As One

Uniting as one, appealing to heaven to change the spiritual climate in our nation.

As One is a national call to prayer. The basic strategy revolves around a 40-day period of prayer-walking, fasting, and corporate prayer events. This united prayer initiative begins on September 30 and ends on Election Day (November 8). In addition, there will be much collaboration with major national prayer events that are happening throughout the year.

Here is how it works:

Heavenly Father, as I think back to reading about our founding fathers writing our Constitution, and the Declaration of Independence, I am reminded that the men who drew up these documents were men of God, and that our great nation was founded on Christian principles, taken from Your Word. These principles are in danger of being done away with, by those who do not believe in You, and want to rule America by their own rules. Father, the only way for our nation to heal is for Your people to fall on our faces before you, and beg for forgiveness, and seek Your face, and turn from our wicked way, and pray till we hear from Heaven. I am seeking You now, oh God, confessing all my sins of commission as well as those of omission. I know that Your ways are higher than our ways Dear God, and I know that Your will, will be done. Thank You Lord, for the many things You are doing in our lives, and I give you all the praise, In Jesus Name, Amen.

Lord, I confess that I have been critical of the leaders we have in Washington. I judge them for what I feel is contrary to Your Word, yet Your Word tells us not to judge another, to leave that to You. Lord, I ask for strength to just pray for the salvation of those in authority, just as I would an ordinary person, and more so because they are making decisions that affect all of us. Lord, when I would start to criticize, let Your Holy Spirit bring to my memory what I should do, and that is to pray. I know that they are in Your hands, and they will receive the judgement they deserve. We need to be in constant prayer for them, that they will be convicted of sin, and ask forgiveness, and accept You as their Savior. Thank You, Lord, for bringing this to our attention, and help us to do better. Amen.

Father, I know that the Church has neglected to take care of the poor and needy as we were instructed to do from Your Holy Word. We have allowed the government to do what we should be doing. Now, there are people who have grown so use to getting free stuff, they don’t want to go out and get work to provide for their families. Our government has become the welfare state, and it keeps growing by leaps and bounds. We need to get back to taking care of the poor and needy as You instructed us to do. Even if we don’t have an abundance to be able to give, we can encourage those who need to be gotten off of the welfare rolls, and start trying to take care of themselves and their families. We can pray, and ask God what He would have us do. There is always something we can do.So, ignite within us the desire and the willingness to do what we can. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Lord Jesus, we as a Church have grown warm and failing to carry out the great commission. We acknowledge, Father God, that we have not let the light of Jesus to permeate the walls of our Churches, and flow out in the world, to guide lost people to the light, which is You, Jesus. We are to be salt and light to a dying world, but we have become bogged down with our own cares and worries, and did not turn everything over to you, so that we might concentrate on what is important. Lost souls are dying and entering that terrible place called hell because we have not done the job You intended for us to do, and that was to show the light of our Savior to every lost person we come in connect with. Please forgive me, Father, for I have no excuse. I have been lazy, and not carried out the great commission. Please help me as an individual, and help all of us as unified children of Yours, to get to work, helping to plant churches, and have prayer meetings, to pour our hearts out to You, and finish the task You have given to us. I pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.

    “Heavenly Father,
As a resident of America, I determine in my heart not to sell my birthright! Post a guard over my mouth, according to Psalm 141:3, and set a watch at the door of my lips. I pray for the healing of America. Cause America to fulfill her divine destiny as You have planned it, oh God! I will watch my mouth for the next 40 days and fast from all negative thinking, critical words and the pointing of the finger!
Lord, we repent for the sins of America:
We confess and repent of the sins of idolatry, witchcraft, rebellion, sexual immorality, homosexuality, lust, abortion, theft, mismanagement of finances, corruption, lying, greed, pride, murder, adultery, fornication, dishonoring our parents, unbelief, lack of love, anger, hatred, hurt, bitterness, fear, apathy, complacency, indifference, laziness, prayerlessness and countless other sins against You, O Lord. We repent for evil laws in our nation that have legalized sinful and wicked practices which are against your Holy Word, the Bible: for example, the Supreme Court ruling that same-sex couples may marry in the United States of America. Lord, remove all persons in the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the Government at the Federal, State and local levels who are ungodly and who have allowed these evil laws to be established and replace them all with God-fearing, Christian men and women of Your choosing as soon as possible, in Jesus’ name.
Lord, cause the Christians in this nation, who are called by Your name, to humble themselves, and pray, to seek Your face and turn from their wicked ways, so that You will hear from Heaven, forgive our sins, and heal our land, according to 2 Chronicles 7:14!
Lord, pour out Your Holy Spirit upon all flesh and bring revival, reformation and transformation to America!
I ask all of these things in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!”

Heavenly Father, You tell us in Your Word to “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Father, help us to desire Your Kingdom, and Your righteousness, and not anything this world has to offer. Those things of earth are here today and gone tomorrow. Help us to diligently seek Your will in our lives, our Families, our Churches, and our nation. We realize, Heavenly Father, that we can take nothing with us when we leave this world, except the salvation that we received from Your Son, who made the ultimate sacrifice, and gave His life’s blood for our sins, but not only did He die, He arose on the 3rd day, and is alive forever more, making intercession for us to His Father in Heaven. So, may we say in our hearts, we will seek the Kingdom of Heaven, and leave all the rest to You, Father. In Jesus Precious Name, Amen.

O Lord our God, we look to you for all the needs we will ever have, and envy and ambition is not one of those needs. Lord, I confess that I have been envious of some people and what they have, but I confess and repent of this sin. I try not to engage in this sin any more. I am truly thankful for all that I have, for the health I have been given over the years, and for the strength to get through each day. I have not been so ambitious other than wanting to get higher in my job, hopefully, not at anyone else’s expense. Now that I am retired, I just want to be a better child of Yours, helping others when needed, and bringing honor to Your Name. Envy and ambition should not be a part of a Christian’s life. Lifting others up should be our goal, serving You with gladness in our hearts. I pray this for those in authority over us that they will not sell out America for their own ambitions. I pray this for every Christian, and I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

The freedom to live in such a great Nation, to be able to worship our Creator in freedom as we are led by the Holy Spirit. We also enjoy the freedoms to be able to earn a living as we so choose, to raise our families to be God-fearing individuals, to study and achieve those things we dream of if we only will trust in You. Thank you for all that You do for us each and every day. Heavenly Father, our nation needs to be healed, and the only way for that to happen is for America to experience a spiritual revival, but for that to happen, we as Your Church need to fall on our faces before You, and repent of all of the bad stuff we have allowed to happen, and ask for Your forgiveness, and Your healing. I pray for peace among our fellow Christians, the Church, and those who would repent and come along beside us. Lord, we deserve Your justice, but I pray for mercy for each one of the Church. Lord, You told us in Your Word that all we had to do to hear from Heaven is to come to You in repentence, begging for forgiveness, in a very humble attitude. We cannot pretend that we are all right just because we go to Church on Sunday, and maybe on Wednesday evening, unless we have a forgiving heart for our fellow man. We are to carry Your message of love and forgiveness to the world. Please keep us in Your will, Dear Lord, so we won’t be in Your way. In Jesus Christ, our blessed redeemer’s name, I ask these petitions.

Father, I thank You that we can be assured through Your Holy Word, that telling the truth is always the best medicine. We don’t have to remember what we said when we continue to tell the truth. Our nation once held “these truths, that all men were created equal,” and for the most part, everyone lived by telling the truth. My heart is sad that our government does not uphold the truth. The people in political office tell you one thing when they are campaigning, but once they get elected, the lies start. I confess that I have not always told the truth, Father, however, I have paid for any untruths I might have said. I know that there are lots and lots of people in this world who do not care if they don’t tell the truth. They expect the people to believe their lies and they tell more lies. Father, I ask forgiveness for all untruths I have spoken, some not by intention, but regardless, I ask forgiveness. Help me to call to mind the Holy Scriptures, and to tell the truth. I pray this in the Precious Name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank you for the blessing of these United States of America which was founded on your Commandments and principles. Thank you that we are a nation that is free to love you, to serve you, and to share the gospel of grace. We come boldly before the throne of your grace in our time of need and ask that you would give us the courage and fortitude to stand tall and strong for these very freedoms that so many lost their lives, to give us. Help us Lord, to stand boldly and with conviction, and to always be prepared to give an answer for the reason for our hope and convictions, doing it with gentleness and respect.
    “Our fathers’ God to Thee,
    Author of liberty,
    To Thee we sing.
Long may our land be bright,
    With freedom’s holy light,

Father, I long for the freedoms I enjoyed when I was just a kid, growing up in a world just coming out of a war, and recession, we still had our freedom to participate in the activities of a peaceful life. We were dependent on You, Father, because we knew our freedom came from You, and the lives of those who fought for freedoms in the US. We long for that sense of freedom today, but there are those in political office who do not care. They would rather divide our country into a bunch of racists and haters, rather than call upon You to bring us together as One Nation Under God, with liberty and justice for all. It is up to Christians to pray and come together as a Christian army to fight the evil that is in this world. When we place our trust in You, Heavenly Father, and not in ourselves, you give us the freedom to come to You in repentance and turning around to fight the good fight of faith to rest in the freedom we receive from You. Thank You, Heavenly Father, Amen.

I know that Your love reaches down to us and lets us know that You are there in our darkest hours. You tell us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, yet, sometimes I think we are the dumbest people on earth. We should use the wisdom that comes from You to lead us in the paths of righteousness, for Your namesake, not ours. I fear You Lord, because of Your Holiness, because You are Lord of Lords, and King of Kings. Dear Jesus, help us to focus on the hurting people around us, and those we do not even know. There are hurting people who have lost their homes and all their belongings in the earthquakes that have recently occurred in Japan and Ecquador and the floods in Houston, Texas. Many have lost family members in the earthquakes, and some in the floods in Houston. We may not be able to do anything more than pray for these people, and God knows our needs and our limited income, but prayer reaches a long way when it is given with sincere honesty on our part. Sometimes, if we would give out of our needs, we would probably be blessed beyond measure. Father, I know that you see all the hurting people, and I pray that your love and mercy extend to all those who are hurting for one reason or another. Thank you, Jesus, Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, we come to You first of all, confessing our sins, Lord, for sometimes staying in the shadows when we should be in the light. It seems that scandals have continued to follow our elected officials. The scandals are not dealt with and they just get buried, and it keeps on down through the WH, the Senate and the Congress, and yes, even we the people. Instead of facing the truth, everything is shoved to the back of the burner, and not dealt with as they should have been, and so it continues. Lord, please help me to walk in the light so that there are no shadows. Forgive me as I forgive those who need forgiveness. Help me not to judge anyone, but help me to be more like You. You have given us the answer when You told us to put on the whole armor of God, having our loins girt about with truth, have on the breastplate of righteousness, our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, taking the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked, take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, watching therefore with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. We are to use the Word of God to battle Satan and his demons, and remember the battle is not ours, but Yours Heavenly Father. Help us to treat others in a kindly manner, telling them how much Jesus loves them, and that He died for sins of all mankind.
